TRAILS, TRADITION, AND TIME WITH GOOD PEOPLE.

A lot of us in New Zealand spent the long weekend indoors thanks to the weather warnings... I hope you still found a moment to pause, breathe, and make space for the good stuff.

We usually head to the farm in the Waitaki Valley during the school holidays, but Easter break is a bit different. It’s a tradition where a few families travel away together. This year, we were forced to change our plans due to the weather warnings in Golden Bay, so we embraced a staycation instead.

The last couple of Easters have felt different after losing one of our best friends, which makes it even more important to keep this tradition going - especially for all our families. This weekend gave us time to be together, to celebrate what we have, and to appreciate the small things.

It’s not always easy, but it does feel a little easier when you're surrounded by the people who matter most.

25km, No Complaints, Big Smiles + a Little Help from INXHALE

A few of you have asked how our tramp went last week, and honestly, it was one for the memory bank. My son Louis (11) and I, along with our friends Bek and her daughter Honor (12), hiked to Lake Angelus in the Nelson Lakes area. Over 25km in under 9 hours. No complaints from the kids, just strong, steady steps and big smiles. It was meant to be an overnight, but with more rain on the way, we tackled it in a day. And I’m so glad we did.

At one point, Louis reached for my hand (which never happens), and later asked me to walk beside him. He was probably just knackered and a little delirious, but I’m counting it as a win. In that moment, I think he really felt the magic of the mountains and started to appreciate the kind of places we get to explore together.

It was pretty gnarly in places, the summit felt like another planet, and the sense of achievement was massive, especially for the kids.

And when our energy levels started to dip, I reached for my INXHALE Alert inhaler. Just a couple of deep breaths and I felt recharged. It’s my go-to when I want a clean, focused lift without caffeine or sugar. If you exercise, honestly, it’s a must!

If you want to know more about the route, send me an email. Always happy to share. And if you’ve got a great day-tramp suggestion, I’d love to hear it.

P.S. If you're anything like me - running on less sleep, more snacks, and juggling school holidays, INXHALE Calm or Alert are great to have in your pocket. One for when things feel a bit much, and one for when you need a lift.

A few snaps from our tramp… If you enjoy the stories and moments I share, come follow along on Instagram and Facebook.
